Kandi has been with EmpRes Whitman since February 2017. She is a proud alumna of the University of Oregon, and as a lifelong learner, later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human services from the University of Phoenix. In addition, she holds certifications in gerontology and memory care. Kandi came to EmpRes after 10 years as the administrator for Sherwood Park Nursing and Rehab, and has more than 20 years' experience in elder care, from activities to administration. Kandi is in the ideal field for her bubbly and caring personality. She greatly enjoys giving her time and talents to humanity's vulnerable populations. She is well known to co-workers and residents as a positive and energetic force in making life better for those in her care. In her spare time, Kandi enjoys preparing farm-fresh meals for her large extended family, playing with and supporting her grandkids, and doing what she can to support local businesses. Kandi is also a talented musician and actress, and in fact, studied Opera at the University of Oregon. On special occasions, she may even treat her colleagues and residents to a performance.
Natalie has been a nurse since 1997 and has been with Whitman Health and Rehabilitation since June 2015. She is a resident advocate and is passionate about providing quality resident care. Natalie has worked in multiple environments as a nurse including clinics and hospitals. However, she prefers long-term care and enjoys the relationships that she is able to build with the residents and the impact that she can make in their quality of life. Natalie has an Associates of Nursing degree from Excelsior College. In her spare time she enjoys boating and spending time with her family.
Dr. Johnson is a 1978 graduate of Colfax High School where he excelled in academics and athletics, helping lead the boys basketball team to a State Championship. He earned his medical degree at St. Louis University of Medicine and did his residency at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle before returning home and becoming medical director at Whitman.
Robert, a physical therapist since the early 1980s, took on his current role in 2011. Born in Pittsburgh, he earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland and has worked in hospitals, private practice, industrial medicine, home health care and skilled nursing facilities. Robert is a certified geriatric specialist. He enjoys karate and spending time with his two daughters.
